Joris Van Laere

J:\> Joris Van Laere

Joris Van Laere (°1982) is a furniture designer and maker. As such, he is fascinated by the simplicity and elegance of clean shapes and minimalist design. His creations draw inspiration from the boldness of 1970s brutalist style, with a touch of Italian design tradition.

With a background in cinematic set decoration for movies and series and a passion for furniture design, he combines his creativity and craftsmanship to create unique and contemporary pieces of furniture. His style is characterised by the use of sturdy materials, clean lines, and a minimalist aesthetic.

As a true chameleon, he combines his passion for furniture with his other passion: film. As a set dresser and constructor, he blends in the team where you need his talents. On set he’s the eyes of the art director and does the most wonderful set dressings for campaigns, films and series. Looking for a special and challenging construction? Joris will fix it, and the art director will love it. On other projects, Joris can manage the whole decor and set dressing form A to Z. The fact that he studied ‘Directing’ at Ritcs in Brussels is an important extra asset.

Add a touch of bad taste to your set. You won’t regret it.

As a photographer Joris is chasing beauty all over the world. Check it out here
